Suicide Prevention

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

WARNING SIGNS AND RISK FACTORS HOW CAN YOU HELP
  • Suicidal ideations, threats, or past attempts
  • Be aware and learn the warning signs
  • A sense of hopelessness or becoming withdrawn
  • Get involved. Always take suicidal comments very seriously
  • Increased recklessness or mood change
  • Be direct. Talk openly and freely about suicide
  • A sense of purposeless or sees no reason for living
  • Be non-judgmental and don't ask "why."
  • Deceased interest in previously enjoyed activities
  • Take action and remove means
  • Gives away prized possessions
  • Get help immediately. Call 911, your community mental health agency, or crisis hotline
  • Family history of suicide or violence
  • Do not leave the person until help is available
  • Experienced a recent loss
  • Do not handle the situation by yourself. Seek professional help
