Bullying
Eagletown School realizes the importance of creating an environment that is caring and safe – where all students feel a sense of belonging and everyone treats others the way he/she wants to be treated.
As role models for our students we ask that you please talk to your child about bullying and model self-control, acceptance of others, kindness, empathy, and respect. We must work together as a community to stop bullying.
According to Eagletown ISD Student Code of Conduct --Bullying is when a student or group of students written or oral expression or physical conduct that a school district’s board of trustees or the board’s designee determines:
1. To have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a student’s property, or placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to the student’s person or of damage to the student’s property; or
2. To be sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive to create an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for a student.
This conduct is considered bullying if it:
1. Exploits an imbalance of power between the student perpetrator who is engaging in bullying and the student victim through written or verbal expression or physical conduct; and
2. Interferes with a student’s education or substantially disrupts the operation of a school.
